Who invented wakeboarding?

Wakeboarding did not have a single inventor but evolved through experimentation with different boards and riding styles behind boats. In the late 1980s, riders began combining surf-style boards with water skiing techniques. Tony Finn is often credited as a major influence due to his work on early wakeboard designs and promotion of the sport. As equipment improved and cable parks emerged, wakeboarding grew into a distinct and globally recognized discipline.
